Apple to Get Into the Movie Rental Business

The Financial Times reported today and The Wall Street Journal will report tomorrow that Apple plans to RENT MOVIES through iTunes for $2.99 each. The movies will "expire" after 30 days days. At this time, it's not certain that Apple will convince studios to go along, but "the rental service is being pitched aggressively by Apple."

Hopefully with companies like Apple pushing the on demand movie rental technology standards, we will begin to see more private label movie rental systems. I can comment first had on the interests by companies like Rent Movie Reviews an interest in offering movie rental services to their movie review offerings.
