Web 2.0 Site Used to Organize UK Gang Fight

The BBC is reporting today that the San Francisco-based social networking site Bebo was used by youths in the English county of Devon to "organize" a fight Saturday involving some 80 kids, ranging in age from 11 to, presumably, 18. Because this was Devon, rather than L.A., the kids were caught with metal bars, baseball bats and bicycle chains, rather than semi-automatic weapons. Youth also used e-mail, cell calls and text messaging to orchestrate the logistics of SUCH A LARGE TURNOUT. (Photo from the movie, "Green Street Hooligans")

Wow. I wonder if facilitating juvenile crime in the UK is part of the Bebo business plan.
