Japanese robot geniuses have invented a hummingbird robot that can "flutter around freely in mid-air with rapid wing movements." The robot has a tiny motor that flaps the robot's wings 30 times per second. The next step in the development of this project (clearly aiming for military applications) is the ability to hover in place like a real hummingbird, and also snap pictures and video with a tiny camera. I want one.
