New Verizon DROID ad implies that the iPhone is for girls.
The ad starts out by asking, "should a phone be pretty?" They then show what looks like the iPhone inside glass, just like when the phone was first announced. In the background are decorated custum iPhones. "Should it be a tiarra-wearing, digitally clueless beauty pageant queen?" The ad ends with "It's not a princess. It's a robot."

Great ad. My girl has an Iphone and I have a Balckberry (when my contracts up in Feb. I will probably get the Droid.)

The ad is not based in reality & anyone that buys into this probably has issue with their masuclinity... observe the poster above.

Yes,iPhones suck, which is why nobody is buying them...oh wait.
Also, the argument that they are pretty seems weak given that the droid phone looks pretty much like an iPhone with a slide out keyboard.

I think the real debate should simply be do you want proprietary or open-source. The iPhone is much simpler to understand how to use but does have a few aspects that miss the mark. Where as the Droid uses the Android OS which runs on more than one device and is more configurable, however, while many aspects of the Android OS are intuitive there are quite of few areas that need work. In the end it just depends on how much control you want over the customizablility of your phone. The nice thing is if you like the Android OS you're not stuck with one piece of hardware to use it on whereas with the iPhone OS you are limited to one phone style.
