Letdown: 'Bionic Woman' Looks Really Stupid
I told you January 3 when NBC's remake of the 1970s hit, "The Bionic Woman," was greenlit; notified you February 13 when they picked their star; and showed you May 11 the first stills from the show. Today, clips from the show emerged on YouTube that, sadly, reveal a REALLY STUPID BIONIC WOMAN SERIES. The special effects are poorly done, the writing clunky, the acting horrible, the cinematography amateurish and the action sequences pedestrian and derivative. The Bionic Woman premieres this fall on NBC and should be cancelled by Spring. It's too bad. Unlike the 1970s, today we "have the technology" to produce a great series about an interently fascinating subject -- "bionic" humans. Unfortunately, we don't have the vision.

Good points. Technology does not replace a great storyline. Thinking on the lines of the 80's arcade era etc. So many of us older folk :) fondly remember entertainment from the 80s - buck rogers, pacman, mario, etc. etc. but find so much of the modern hitech, great graphics, etc. stuff a letdown in comparison. Back to books is not a bad thing IMO tho'
Hey, it's Zoe from Eastenders!
So you've judged a whole series based on 2 short clips. That's a shame - that kind of approach kills series like firefly. Who knows how this will be? Look again - there's a moment of shock when she doesn't quite cope with her new strength when she lands. The conversation with her "landlord" seems cheesy, sure. But I guess we're missing the contextual conversation. Dunno about you, but I'm eager to see some new series I can enjoy. They always take time to get into their swing. The kind of petty trashing you're going for here doesn't help anyone. If it turns out hopeless, it'll be canned. But if you put people off watching it before it airs, that's just not clever. People like you with blogs that a lot of people read have a responsibility, whether you like it or not.
