New Gadget Reads Barcodes From 50 Feet

Intermec's new CK31ex uses something called "integrated near-far imaging technology" that enables it to read barcodes up to 50 FEET AWAY. It can distance-read 1D and 2D barcodes as well as composite and postal codes. The gadget also includes a built-in digital camera so delivery people can "capture images suitable for proof of delivery and documentation of damaged, expired or unsealed goods."
