Japanese man legally marries video game character.
A "mentally stable" Japanese man (um, I'll need some evidence for that) traveled to Guam in order to legally marry his "virtual girlfriend," called Nene Anegasaki, who is a character in a dating simulator game called Konami's Love Plus for Nintendo DS. The happy couple will hold their reception in Japan on November 22, and it will be broadcast live on the Internet.
Comments:
I just got a divorce from my virtual wife. I got the house and kids, but she got all the bank accounts. I wouldn't recommend it.
What, that is normal.
I'd like to send the happy groom a virtual wedding present -- a year's supply of Haldol.
As long as it's a female virtual character, then we're fine with it.
How will it be consummated?
Does this mean I can get a $250,000 life insurance policy on my DS?
wait, wouldn't this be virtual shotgun marriage or virtual rape? there was no consent...
this is another clear evidence that terminator robots will someday kill us all :) yay 2012!
