It's a chair that Panasonic or some company sent up with a high altitude weather ballon type air craft...:0)

That's a chair. It appears to be in orbit and floating above a frozen tundra. It looks as if it could be Earth, above the ice caps. It does not look safe to sit in, though in an area where gravity is the primary force, it may be comfortable enough to play some console games for a short amount of time.

It's a chair suspended by a helium balloon, as a part of a commercial by Toshiba.

It's the chair, from Toshiba's film/commercial "Space Chair" ad campaign promoting its new 2010 REGZA SV LCD TV series, Toshiba's first with LED backlight and local dimming. The ad follows the journey of "an ordinary living room chair" to the edge of space before falling back to Earth where the ground crew relied upon a GPS beacon to locate the craft.

The chair took 83 minutes to reach an altitude of 98,268 feet and just 24 minutes to fall back to earth.

A balsa wood chair that was specially made to be taken to the edge of space by a weather balloon. It weights under the FAA limit of 10 pounds (I think) so it did not require any special registration or anything.

(yes i have seen it before :P)

That is a still from the bravia TV commercial. The idea itself has been "stolen" by a competition between students, who are doing this since a few years now. One example amongst many: http://space.1337arts.com/
