Microsoft millionaire invents mosquito death ray
Former Microsoft genius Nathan Myhrvold has invented a "Star Wars" anti-missile system for mosquitoes, which tracks them in flight and zaps them out of the air with a laser beam. The mosquito death ray is designed to help protect against malaria and is funded by Myhrvold's former boss, Bill Gates. More videos. (Props to BoingBoing)

I would be more than happy to test that out here in Florida.
That's beastly. It doesn't kill them, just cripples them. If it wasn't mosquitoes, it'd be horrible. And wait, it won't be just mosquitoes for long.
Me too and I'm a northerner. Mosquito's ruin what little summer we have..
This is craziness but I think we need more of this "outside the box" type of thinking to solve some of our world's problems. Let's keep taking the brightest minds and using them for improving life.
Although mosquitoes carry malaria, they also play an important part in nature. I don't think we should just be killing them all....
LoL cant wait to see the pockmarked walls from near misses and mistaking flies for mozzies o.0
